(86) Subtle


I must have been to the garden behind Kamakura’s Big Buddha at least a dozen times; still I hadn’t noticed him before: an unnamed arakan (“arhat” in Sanskrit) hidden in a stone lantern. Inconspicuous –but this is what being an arakan really means.
