(309) Kanda Matsuri – 5

One of the areas celebrating the Kanda Matsuri is Jimbocho (神保町), the area hosting more antique bookstores than any other in Tokyo; a virtual Eldorado (mostly) for Japanese readers but also for anyone interested in the ukiyoe (浮世絵) woodblock prints. And although entrepreneurship is an important part of the “spirit of Edo”, equally important is knowing when to close shop to honor the patron saints of the area.
