(429) Nebuta in Asakusa – 1

I have written before about the Nebuta (ねぶた) festival in Aomori. I still haven’t managed to go and see it from up close but fortunately, the good people from Aomori’s Hirosaki were kind enough to bring three of their characteristic floats to Asakusa and parade them this weekend around the big Sensoji temple. Keep in mind that the original nebuta are at least three times as big as the ones they brought down to Tokyo. Oh, and they are made of paper.
