(443) Tori no Ichi – 1: Entering


As promised last week, some shots from the Tori no Ichi fair at the Shinto shrine Otori Jinja (鷲神社) ten minutes north from Asakusa in the old Yoshiwara (today the area is called Senzoku/千束). First you go through the gate where the shrine’s priests purify you using the sacred dusters “gohei” (御幣).
