As I was writing the other day on Pinterest (we have all seen my board on Pinterest, right?) every January Asakusa’s public hall is hosting Kabuki for a whole month; Asakusa has a historical relationship with Kabuki even though its main stage moved to Ginza over a century ago. The performances held in Asakusa feature the new generation of Kabuki actors and those interested in the genre have the chance to see some of the families’/guilds’ rising stars in big roles.
