(601) Kashima Jingu #2


Kashima Jingu’s main building (honden/本殿) hidden from the eyes of visitors as is often the case with important temples/shrines (and they don’t get much more important than Kashima: the designation “Jingu” means there is a connection with the imperial family and if records are to be believed, this connection goes back to 600 BC).
