(623) August in Ueno #1


Oddly, I haven’t written anything about it although it was one of the first things I saw in Tokyo (not to mention one of the most emblematic): One level below Ueno Park (or, depending on how you see things, in the park) Shinobazu (不忍池) Pond and on the right, the Benten-do (弁天堂) Temple on the Benten-jima (弁天島) “island”. Especially this season the lotuses are in full bloom –and they are huge!
