(665) And in Tsukudajima (4)


One of the reasons some people come to Tsukudajima is to see these old houses, made in the style of the late Edo and Meiji periods.


Of particular interest are the houses built in the “nagaya” (長屋) style: these are, as the name suggests, long houses with separated interiors which host from two to five different families.
