On November 3, national culture day or “Bunka no Hi” (文化の日) a group from the Edo Firemanship Preservation Association parades through the Meiji Shrine to honor the Emperor Meiji (the day was originally the anniversary of the emperor’s birthday but after the war it became associated with the announcement of Japan’s new constitution).
