(737) Auld Lang Syne

In the period between early December and late January, most Japanese’s social agenda is filled with invitations to “farewell to the old-year” (bonen-kai/忘年会) and “welcome the new year” (shinen-kai/新年会) parties; restaurants and other public venues offer various plans for these events, often with quite imaginative names like this “standard”, “happy” and “gorgeous” (!) triple choice from Nakano’s Sun Plaza Hotel.
