(1343) On tea

It was an exhibition at the National Museum; the theme was arts related to the art of tea (painting, calligraphy, pottery etc.) Because photography was, of course, prohibited, some things from the lobby: Portable tea ceremony set. Back to the left, a figure of Sen no Rikyu/千利休 (1522-1591) founder of the tea ceremony on a matcha green tea cup.

T-shirt with the tea ceremony utensils and their names.

And gachapon...

...one with tea ceremony sweets combined with a cute chicken...

...and one with pieces that come together to form a tea ceremony room with tatami and everything.

(For a bigger version of these pictures both in color and black and white, check my "Japan Arekore" set on Flickr)
