(1514) A stone for some words

At Honpoji (本法寺) temple in Asakusa, a mound called "Hanashi-zuka" (はなし塚) or "words mound". The words were 53 satirical stories from the Rakugo (落語) genre who fell victims to the prewar censorship and were "entombed" here in 1941. In 1964 they were revived and some stories from the war period took their place.
